Dermal fillers are one of the most requested treatments in aesthetics. Combining a filler with local anaesthetic, they restore volume and definition without surgery.

 

Our foundation lip augmentation and facial dermal fillers course is designed for learners entering the industry at beginner level who want to specialise in lip augmentation and dermal fillers across all areas of the face.

 

The goal at Valessa Aesthetics Institute is to deliver the highest quality training in dermal fillers using the safest and most up to date techniques. Courses run in small groups with plenty of live models to work on, so you leave feeling confident. That also lets us tailor the training to you, with more time and emphasis on the hands-on practical sessions.

 

This course suits those with or without a medical background, and is designed to give you the ability to seek employment or start your own business once qualified.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

At a minimum you will need to be qualified in at least one of the following:

 

• Medically qualified as a nurse, doctor or dentist with current registration

• NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy

• 6 months of needling experience

• 6 months of micropigmentation experience and Anatomy and Physiology Level 3

 

If your qualification does not appear above, we offer a fast track Pathway to Injectables Starter Course.

 

COURSE CONTENT

 

The basic dermal filler course covers the fundamentals of dermal filler injectables, teaching you how to reshape and recontour different areas of the face while working with clients to achieve the look they are after.

The course is separated into two parts, theory and practical. You will cover theory on the following modules:

 

• Treatment information

• Consultation

• Medical questionnaire

• Consent

• Before and afters

• Anatomy

• Injection techniques

• Safety and hygiene

• Contraindications

• Risks, side effects and complications

• Realistic expectations

• Legality

• Topical anaesthetic

 

The day begins with a presentation reviewing the information from our workbook. The remainder of the two days is spent performing practical treatments on live models across all areas of the face, under the supervision of our nurse tutors and aesthetic practitioners.

 

Lunch is provided for all trainees.
